About Our Huts
With over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, quality and exceptional standards aren’t just paramount, they’re in the foundation of every shepherd’s hut we build.
Our huts can be made to incorporate your own features and ideas, we love to include unique design ideas, using different timbers and materials. All of our huts are made by hand, with high craftsmanship quality, our huts are made with a thoughtful design performance and attention to detail is our passion.
Our Wedmore Shepherd Huts are available in three standard lengths: 14ft, 16ft, 18ft or 20ft; and either 7ft 6in or 8ft in width, to create a space suitable for any use. Alternatively, we can work with you to tailor your hut to a size that suits your requirements.
For the chassis, we offer the option to choose from either oak or steel. The oak chassis offer a traditional style and eye-catching features whilst our steel chassis are also eye catching with individual design features, such as our unique galvanised protection and powder coated system to give a lifetime of use.
We offer various external and internal wall finishes, and a selection of beautiful unique floor finishes. All our huts have plastisol coated metal roof sheets which are available in a selection of colours.
There are options to include underfloor heating, log burners, and the installation of televisions and sound systems, as well as the opportunity to add smart home technologies to seamlessly connect with your phone or tablet, making your shepherd’s hut an extension of your home.
Hut Specification Options
Walls
Our Huts are typically externally clad in Cedar or Oak feather edge grade 1 timber
or
External clad with plastisol coated metal profile sheet cladding, available in a range of colours
The insulation within the walls is 60mm PIR insulation, our wall system is designed to incorporate the correct method of vapour control and also becomes breathable wall that that performs for many years to come.
Internally we offer 21mm thick timber boarding with a painted finish, we offer several options to create a unique joint finish.
We also offer feature boarding using reclaimed materials, or metal sheeting such as copper and zinc.
Roof
External clad with curved plastisol coated metal roof sheet, available in a range of colours
We use high performance 60mm PIR insulation.
Internally the ceilings are clad using a 21mm thick timber softwood painted boarding, we offer several detailed joint options.
We also offer reclaimed timber boarding along with options for metal sheeting such as copper and zinc.
Windows & Doors
All of our windows and doors offer high performance thermal values.
We typically offer three window sizes, 930mm x 900mm, 450mm x 750mm and a 450mm x 450mm.
All of our windows are a flush casement window, and are supplied with a range of handles, in various finishes.
Our doors are offered as a single or double door and these can be glazed or solid and can also become a stable door.
All joinery items are made in hardwood timber painted, or oak timber with a natural finish.
All windows and doors are supplied by a quality maker.
External and Internal Fixtures & Fittings
Our Shepherd Huts offer a whole range of fixtures and fittings.
typically our Herdwick hut comes with the following items as standard:
Fixed king sized bed or a folding bed option.
Folding table and seating.
Kitchen area, with cupboard and draw, along with a sink and tap, hob, microwave and fridge.
Shower, WC, and Wash Basin, and heated towel rail.
Electric under floor heating.
3 pendant lights.
5 double sockets.
Two external lights.
